The Volunteer Public House has been a licensed premises since the 19th Century.
When it’s doors closed in November 2017, regulars of the popular, friendly pub feared the worst. Would it be knocked down to become yet another supermarket or block of flats?
A few locals made enquiries and found that it could be possible to purchase the lease to form a community pub.
On the 7th of April 2018 after much hard work, the “Volly” reopened with live music and many familiar faces.
The next step is to develop the pub further to become a prime spot to meet, eat, drink and enjoy live music.
We have a large car park and beer garden and are just a few minutes walk from Bexleyheath Station.
Please follow our page to keep up to date with our latest developments. In March 2019 we were presented with a CAMRA award as runners up in a national competition as " Pub Savers".
