The Volunteer Pub - Reopening

We are very excited to announce our reopening Saturday. Everyone has been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that reopening is as safe as possible whilst continuing to follow the latest government guidelines.

Here at The Volunteer pub we are committed to putting our customer and team's safety first and have implemented many precautions, these four being the most important.

Safe socialising layout throughout our pub

Minimise contact

Looking after our team, so they can look after our customers
Hand sanitising and hygiene

We have made a safe socialisng layout through our pub

A new safe socialising layout is being introduced, with clear signage to direct customers through the pub. Tables are being spaced out in-line with government guidelines.

Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the pub and bins will be provided at each sanitizer station for customers to dispose of any rubbish reducing our teams contact and keeping them safe.

Each outside table has at least a 1 metre radius, umbrellas at each table will provide shading for the customer if required.

Unfortunately,The Volunteer Pub is just not big enough to provide shelter for everyone should it rain. In this event, we can offer you a takeaway option.

All team members will have training in accordance with the latest government guidelines for safe working and will be given everything they need to work safely, including training on social distancing and hand hygiene.

We cannot guarantee/book a table – all tables will be on a first come first served basis. Customers using inside tables will need to use the smoking area in the car park and ensure they use the hand sanitiser provided before they re-enter the pub.

There will be a new one-in-one-out red and green card system at the entrances to the toilets so customers can turn the card as they enter and exit, with toilets cleaned every 60 minutes.

Posters will be everywhere in visible sight for customers and team members reminding them of the rules and guidelines.

Arriving at the pub

Customers can only enter and exit the pub via the garden gate, which is located in the car park, and must queue within the box markings.

The car park is still open for parking. however spaces will be limited.

A pub host will be on hand at the entrance to welcome each customer, explain how to order drinks and take the following details for all party members:
  • Name
  • Telephone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • These details are compulsory in order for us to adhere to the track and trace guidance.

Customers will be asked to use the hand sanitiser station at the entrance and shown to their table.

Where all tables are occupied customers will be asked to remain in the car park until a table becomes free.

Individuals who come to the pub may be placed on a table with other individual to ensure space – following government guidelines there can be a maximum of six per table.

    Ordering and paying for drinks

To help minimise contact between team members and customers, we will be using a website ordering system (there is no app to download).

When customers arrive, the pub host will explain how to order your drinks via the website.

Customers will make their orders via the website whilst seated at their table.

Orders from the website are sent to the staff behind the bar and will be bought to the designated table by your sections team member, where the customer is encouraged to pay by card.

For any customers who cannot use the website, table orders can be made, in these instances please make the pub host aware when you are shown to your table.
